This course focuses on scalp and face massage for calming the mind and creating a peaceful mood, including more than 30 targeted techniques. The massage is calming yet revitalizing and combines effleurage, kneading, friction, percussion and pressure point techniques. Scalp massage supports the nervous system by alleviating stress, encouraging the elimination of toxins and increasing oxygen uptake in tissues. It encourages deep relaxation and can help eyestrain and headaches. Additionally, it boosts hair health, improves concentration by enhancing blood flow, calms the mind and eases emotional and work-related stress.

Participants learn techniques with the client in a seated position, as well as how to adapt those strokes for everyday table work with the client lying in both prone and supine positions. Oil is recommended but optional for the scalp massage. The instructor provides organic oils known for their benefits to the hair and scalp.

What to bring and special instructions:  One set of linens. Please have clean hair and use no hair products on the day of the class. Dress comfortably and in layers. Please bring water and food to keep yourself fueled throughout the day.
